Overview

In simple words, journalism is the discipline of collecting, writing and editing news stories. In a rapidly changing world, we are never short of news. There are so many perspectives and so many sides to situations. Journalists tell us how and why the world is changing and have the potential to redefine human perceptions. Considering the dramatic changes in media, we are glued to TV sets to listen to news channel hosts to hear their opinion or see them talk to the world leaders on matters that matter.
The Journalism department at mLAC prepares passionate students to become budding journalists. Our faculty use various teaching methods that include:
Teaching methods:

  • Interaction on current events
  • Reporting assignments
  • Interactive lectures by eminent speakers
  • Power point presentations ( subject related)
  • Editing and page layouts for lab journal

Future Plans:

  • To collaborate with media houses
  • To provide audio visual communication facility through a well equipped Media Lab (planning)
  • To initiate practical class for students with camera, studio setup etc.
